I am an agro-forestry Peace Corps Volunteer living in Ker Manoumbe, Senegal deep in the African bush and peanut basin. On a daily basis I eat more peanuts, rice, and cere than I ever thought was possible. Im learning to love my new life and the simplicity that comes with no power or running water.
I graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in June 2011 with my BS in Environmental Management and Protection with a concentration in Watershed Hydrology. Which means I love hiking around in the forest, especially when its raining, and i had to spend too many hours in front of a computer in college working in GIS and Excel.
In my former life as a college student I was on the Cal Poly triathlon team. I love to run, hike, and do yoga.
At some point in college I prayed that God would never allow me to be too comfortable. So far that is constantly being answered, and I am learning to plan less and trust more.
